My easy apple danish recipe is full of delicious flavor, all without any time-consuming prep! Every bite is filled with sweet apples, warming spices, and flaky puff pastry. It's the perfect breakfast or dessert for all the family!

Ingredients
- 1 cup apples chopped, any kind
- ⅓ cup white sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- ⅛ teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon nutmeg
- ¼ teaspoon allspice
- ½ teaspoon cloves
- 1 heet puff pastry thawed but cold
- 3 tablespoons butter diced
- 1 egg
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400ºF
- Dice the apples into ¼ inch cubes.
- Combine with sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, allspice, and cloves. Stir well.
- Lay out the sheet of puff pastry and roll out slightly.
- Slice strips ½ inch thick along each side, leaving 3-4 inches in the middle of the sheet.
- Spread the apple mixture down the center of the puff pastry.
- Dot the top with the butter.
- Fold the strips of the puff pastry across the apples, alternating them so it looks like a braid.
- Combine egg and water.
- Brush the puff pastry with the egg wash.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, until the pastry is golden brown.
- Drizzle with icing glaze, if desired.
