Ingredients

Servings
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper ground
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper ground
  • 12 ounces Bacon sliced
  • 1 package beef cocktail wieners 14 ounces, aka Little Smokies

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together brown sugar, cayenne, and black pepper.
  3. Cut bacon into thirds, so each slice of bacon is now 3 equal pieces. Separate the pieces and add to the bowl.
  4. Using tongs or your hands, toss the bacon in the sugar mixture until evenly coated.
  5. Wrap each cocktail wiener with a piece of the coated bacon and secure with a toothpick. Place on the lined baking sheet and repeat until all the bacon is used.
  6. Bake for 40 minutes, until bacon is crisp and sugar is bubbly. Serve immediately or place in a slow cooker set on warm to keep warm.

Notes

  • Parchment does work better for not sticking than foil, but foil works fine if you don’t have any parchment.
  • These reheat well in the microwave.
  • Depending on the brand, the cocktail wieners may be called Little Smokies, Li’l Smokies, or Lit’l Smokies
