Balsamic Dressing
Description
The Balsamic Dressing recipe combines 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard with 2 tablespoons thick, sweet balsamic vinegar and 5 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil to provide a smooth, emulsified dressing. Lime juice adds a fresh citrus layer, while pepper introduces slight heat, balancing the vinegar's sharpness. The preparation involves shaking the ingredients in a jar until emulsified, resulting in a cohesive dressing with creamy texture from the mustard and richness from the olive oil. Tasting after mixing guides any seasoning adjustments, such as adding honey if the vinegar is too acidic or salt to enhance the overall flavor profile.
