- Prep Tips:
- If you don't have banana rum at home or can't find it at the store, there here are a couple other ways you can make this drink:
- If you don't have pineapple rum, you can simply use one type of liquor because you're already adding pineapple juice to the mix and will still have some of th
- Yield - The ingredients listed in the recipe card are for one serving. If you want to make a pitcher, I would use 4-6 times the amounts listed (depending on the size of your pitcher).
- Make it Frozen - If you're using a large blender, I'd suggest using the pitcher amounts recommended above. Add to blender with a cup of ice and blend until there are no large chunks. You can add more ice if needed, until you have your desired frozen consistency. If making a frozen drink, if can be helpful to freeze the juice ingredients and use those frozen juice cubes instead of ice cubes. That way the drink doesn't get watered down and the flavors diluted during blending.
- Use coconut rum (like Malibu) and add 1/2 teaspoon banana extract (click here to get it on Amazon). This would be my #1 suggestion for a substitution because coconut rum is a very tropical flavor and pairs well with the juices used in this recipe.
- Swap spiced rum (like Captain Morgan or Sailor Jerry's) and add 1/4 teaspoon banana extract. I lowered the banana flavor for this variation because spiced rum has a pretty strong flavor.
