                                Ingredients
- 1 tsp olive oil
 - ½ onion, minced
 - 4 garlic cloves, minced, or 1 tsp garlic powder
 - 2 c crushed tomatoes or diced
 - 1 (6 oz) can tomato paste
 - ¾ c water
 - 1 tsp basil
 - 1 tsp oregano
 - ¾ tsp salt
 - ½ tsp sugar
 - ¼ tsp ground black pepper
 
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, heat oil. Add minced onion and sauté over medium-high heat until soft, 3-5 min. Add the minced garlic, and saute 1 minute.
 - Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer, uncovered for 15 - 20 minutes, until the sauce reaches your desired consistency.
