Notes

  • Don't be afraid to experiment and add your twist to the dish. Add some sautéed mushrooms, peppers or corn maybe.
  • To ensure your tortilla doesn't get soggy with all the filling, don't forget to heat it before adding the ingredients. A quick warm-up in the pan will do the trick.
  • Finally, there is no better way to ensure a perfectly crispy quesadilla than oiling the pan before adding the cheese and toppings. It will create an amazing crunchy texture!
  • You can get creative with your Birria Quesadilla adventure and try different flavor combinations. You can make them with chicken, lamb , or even vegan-friendly options like jackfruit.
  • You can also switch up the toppings and ingredients to your liking. Even the type of tortilla you use can make a huge difference in the flavor profile.
  • Once the cheese has melted, and the tortilla has turned a golden brown, your quesadilla is ready. You can also press down with a spatula to ensure the cheese is melted thoroughly.
  • Yes! You can adjust the spice level of this recipe by adding or subtracting certain ingredients.
  • Yes, Birria is traditionally  and originally made with goat meat. However, as we mentioned earlier, you can also use beef, lamb and chicken.
