Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots

Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots combine tender roasted carrots with a sweet, caramelized glaze made from brown sugar, butter, garlic, and olive oil. The roasting process softens the carrots while creating caramelized edges that enhance their natural sweetness. This side dish offers a subtle balance of savory and sweet, accented by optional fresh parsley for a touch of brightness. It is a practical and attractive vegetable addition for various meals, with a simple preparation that highlights the carrots' flavor.

Description

Brown Sugar Glazed Carrots start with peeled carrots cut into uniform pieces to ensure even roasting. The glaze is created by tossing carrots with brown sugar, melted butter, garlic, olive oil, salt, and pepper. Roasting at a high temperature softens the carrots and creates caramelized edges that coat them in a flavorful glaze. The result is a tender yet slightly crisp vegetable with a natural sweetness enriched by the brown sugar and butter.

The dish carries a savory note from garlic and seasoning, complemented by the buttery sheen and gentle caramelization from roasting. These flavors meld well together, making the carrots a versatile side that pairs nicely with meats or can be enjoyed as a warm vegetable component.

Finishing with chopped parsley adds a fresh herbal touch, though it is optional. This recipe can be adapted with spices like cinnamon or cayenne pepper for different flavor profiles, according to the provided notes.

The recipe also suggests that any carrot variety can be used and offers sugar substitutes like honey or maple syrup. These practical tips allow customization and adaptability for different preferences or ingredient availability.
