Brownies Made With Greek Yogurt
Description
Brownies Made With Greek Yogurt uses a standard boxed brownie mix but replaces half the oil quantity with plain, non-fat Greek yogurt. For example, if the mix calls for 1/2 cup oil, the recipe uses 1/4 cup Greek yogurt. This swap reduces fat content and adds moisture to the batter. An egg white is also added to the mixture.
After preheating and preparing the pan as directed by the box, the ingredients are combined until just mixed to avoid overworking the batter. The brownie batter is then poured into the pan and baked following the package instructions.
Once baked, the brownies are cooled before slicing with a plastic knife to achieve clean edges. The use of Greek yogurt provides creaminess and tang without additional oil, making a moist, tender brownie that differs slightly from the original mix.
Ingredients
- 1 brownie mix 8x8 mix size
- water amount as called for on box
- Greek yogurt use in half the amount of oil called for on box
