Ingredients
- 1 Tbsp. oil olive or avocado
- 1 lb. ground beef 85/15 or 90/10
- 1 ½ tsp. paprika
- ¾ tsp. garlic powder
- ¾ tsp. onion powder
- ½ tsp. oregano dried
- ¾-1 tsp. salt to taste
- Romaine lettuce or spinach chopped
- 1 pint cherry tomatoes cut in half
- 4 strips cooked bacon crumbled
- ½ cup dill pickle slices
- ¼ cup red onion thinly sliced
- ½ cup cheddar cheese shredded
Secret Sauce:
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup ketchup or barbecue sauce
- 1 Tbsp. Dijon mustard or yellow
- 2 Tbsp. pickle relish sweet or regular
- 2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 Tbsp. lemon juice freshly squeezed
- 2 cloves garlic finely minced
- ¼ tsp. paprika
- salt to taste
Instructions
- Heat olive or avocado oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground meat and cook for 5-6 minutes or until no longer pink.
- In a small bowl, whisk together paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, and salt. Add the seasoning mixture to the cooked ground beef and toss until evenly coated.
- Make the Secret Sauce: While the beef is cooking, prepare the secret sauce by whisking together mayonnaise, ketchup (or barbecue sauce), mustard, pickle relish, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, minced garlic, paprika, and salt in a medium-sized bowl. Refrigerate the sauce until ready to use.
- To assemble the salad, place chopped lettuce in a salad bowl and top with halved cherry tomatoes, crumbled bacon, pickle slices, sliced red onion, and shredded Cheddar cheese.
- Drizzle the assembled salad with the prepared secret sauce and serve immediately. Enjoy!
Notes
- Prep-Ahead Instructions:
- This is the perfect make-ahead dish, the flavor marries as it sits, so you can prepare it a couple of days in advance. Keep things in separate containers. Just don't build the bowl until you're ready to eat.
- Storage Directions:
- Leftover burger meat can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 to 5 days. You can freeze the meat for up to 4 to 5 months, but I wouldn't recommend freezing the toppings. Warm up leftovers in a skillet over medium-low heat for the best taste and texture. You can also warm it up in the microwave, but it will be soggier.
