Busy Weeknight Chicken

You can have this simple and delicious Busy Weeknight Baked Chicken Breast on the table in less time than it takes to order take out!

Ingredients
- 4 large boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 2 teaspoons garlic powder
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 2 teaspoons pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat.
- Sprinkle half of the seasonings over one side of the chicken breasts.
- Once the olive oil is hot, place the chicken breasts seasoned side down into the skillet. Sprinkle the remaining seasoning over the unseasoned side of the chicken.
- Continue to cook the chicken without moving it too much for about 5 minutes or until the chicken is a dark golden color.
- Flip the chicken and cook for another 5 minutes to sear the other side.
- Place skillet with chicken into the oven to finish cooking about 20 to 25 minutes or until the internal temperature reads 160 degrees F. (see note)
- Remove the chicken from the oven and let it rest on a cutting board for about 5 minutes. Serve whole or cut into slices before serving warm.
Notes
- If you don't have an oven-safe skillet, transfer the chicken to a baking dish or pan after searing it in the skillet. Then bake as directed.
