Cabbage Stir Fry Recipe With Garlic, Ginger And Soy Sauce

This Cabbage Stir Fry features crisp-tender white cabbage strips sautéed with fragrant garlic and ginger, seasoned with soy sauce for savory depth. The quick cooking method softens the cabbage while retaining some texture, and finishing with extra soy sauce adds a slight caramelization and intensified flavor.

Description

The recipe starts by finely slicing fresh white cabbage into thin strips before sautéing in olive oil alongside minced garlic and ginger. This base provides aromatic depth. After softening the cabbage over medium heat, soy sauce is added in stages—initially to start flavor infusion and finally to create slight caramelization on the cabbage edges. Salt and black pepper complete the seasoning, enhancing natural sweetness and umami.

The result is a simple vegetable side dish with balanced savory and aromatic notes and a tender-crisp texture. This quick stir fry complements rice dishes or can be served as part of an Asian-style meal.

  • 3 garlic gloves
  • ginger a piece
  • white cabbage half
  • 4 Tablespoons soy sauce

Instructions

  1. Wash the cabbage, place it on a cutting board and using a sharp knife, cut it into small strips. (Below I I explain how to cut it)
  2. After cutting up the gabbage, finely chop the garlic and ginger.
  3. In a high-sided skillet, add the olive oil.As soon as it is hot, add the chopped garlic and ginger.
  4. Let the garlic and ginger sauté for about 3 minutes over medium heat.
  5. At this point, add the cabbage, two tablespoons of soy sauce, a pinch of salt and black pepper, and cook over medium heat until softened. (About 5/7 minutes)
  6. When the cabbage is soft, or cooked to your taste, add the remaining two tablespoons of soy sauce.
  7. Turn up the heat and saute for a few minutes, so that the cabbage takes on flavor and is slightly "caramelized" with the soy sauce.
