Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a mixer bowl, combine the cream cheese and butter. Mix until creamy.
  3. Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
  4. Add the package of cake mix and mix until the batter is thick and everything is mixed together.
  5. Put the sprinkles or powdered sugar on a small plate or in a shallow bowl.
  6. Use a medium scoop or spoon to make balls about 1 1/2 inches. Roll the balls between your palms until they are round. Then roll them in the sprinkles until they are completely covered.
  7. Place the balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 2 inches between balls. Bake for 9-11 minutes, until the edges are set, and the middle looks cooked.
  8. Let the cookies cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before placing them on wire racks to finish cooling.

Notes

  • Other cake mix varieties will also work, like yellow or lemon cake.
  • Soften the butter and cream cheese by leaving them at room temperature for an hour or so before starting baking.

  • Don't just add a few sprinkles. These look prettiest when you coat them thoroughly.
