Candied Jalapenos

Sweet, spicy, and incredibly tasty, these Candied Jalapenos may just be your new favorite! These are also known as "Cowboy Candy" because of how addictive they are!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb jalapeno pepper fresh
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2/3 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Slice jalapenos into rounds. *You don't have to deseed them, we did on about half.
  2. In a medium pot, add in the sugar, apple cider vinegar, garlic powder, celery seed, ground turmeric, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Cook mixture over medium high heat and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce heat to low and stir for about 5 minutes, or until sugar has dissolved.
  5. Add the sliced peppers into the pot and turn heat to high, bringing to a boil once more.
  6. Once boiling, turn heat lower and simmer 5 minutes.
  7. Spoon the peppers into a jar and allow the liquid to boil over heat 5 additional minutes.
  8. Pour into the jar(s) with peppers and allow to cool.
  9. Store in refrigerator for up to 3 months.
