Carne Asada Recipe

  • pounds flank steak
  • cup olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons lime juice
  • ½ cup cilantro chopped
  • 4 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin powder
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • salt to taste
  • black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Make marinade by combining olive oil, lime juice, cilantro, minced garlic, cumin, and chili powder in a small bowl.
  2. Add steak to the bowl or to a baking dish (with marinade poured over) making sure meat is coated and marinate for 2-3 hours.
  3. Heat grill to medium-high heat and cook meat for 5-7 minutes on each side. Let meat rest on a cutting board for 5 minutes.
  4. Slice meat at an angle against the grain with a sharp knife and serve warm.
