Cheesy Garlic Bombs
Description
Cheesy Garlic Bombs start with refrigerated buttermilk biscuit dough divided and flattened, each piece wrapped around mozzarella pearls to create cheese-filled balls. These are placed in a mini muffin tin and brushed generously with a melted butter mixture infused with minced garlic, oregano, basil, and salt.
After sprinkling Parmesan cheese on top, they're baked at a high temperature until they achieve a golden-brown exterior. The baking method produces a crispy outer layer infused with garlic and herbs, contrasting with the gooey melted mozzarella inside.
Serving immediately preserves the contrast between the crunchy outside and the soft, stretchy inside. Garnishing with freshly chopped parsley adds freshness. These can be served as finger food or an accompaniment to meals. Using cubed string cheese is an acceptable substitution for mozzarella pearls.
Ingredients
- ¼ cup butter melted, unsalted
- 3 cloves garlic minced
- ½ teaspoon oregano dried
- ½ teaspoon basil dried
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 1 buttermilk biscuits 16-ounce tube, refrigerated
- 48 fresh mozzarella drained, pearls
- ¼ cup Parmesan Cheese freshly grated
- 2 tablespoons parsley chopped fresh leaves
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees F. Lightly oil a 24-cup mini muffin tin or coat with nonstick spray.
- In a small bowl, whisk together butter, garlic, oregano, basil and salt; set aside.
- Halve each of the 8 biscuits, making 16 pieces. Working one at a time, use a rolling pin to flatten each piece to about 1/4-inch thickness. Add 3 mozzarella pearls to the center of each biscuit piece before rolling into a ball.
- Place into the prepared muffin tin and brush each ball with half of the butter mixture; sprinkle with Parmesan. Place into oven and bake until golden brown, about 8-10 minutes.
- Serve immediately, brushed with remaining butter mixture and garnished with parsley, if desired.
Notes
- Cubed string cheese can be used instead of mozzarella pearls as a filling.
