Chewy Lemon Sugar Cookies
Description
These cookies combine all-purpose flour with leavening agents and salt for structure. The creamed butter and sugar base is enriched with egg, vanilla extract, fresh lemon juice, and grated lemon zest, providing moisture and lively flavor. The dough is formed into small balls, rolled in sugar coating, and baked until just lightly browned on the edges, which helps maintain chewiness inside.
The fresh lemon adds a pronounced citrus aroma and taste without overwhelming sweetness. These cookies are enjoyable as a snack or dessert alongside tea or coffee.
This recipe is adapted from Rock Recipes, reflecting a tested approach to achieving a balance of softness and tang in lemon sugar cookies.
