Chimichurri Sauce

Chimichurri Sauce is an uncooked sauce made from a blend of olive oil, red wine vinegar, fresh herbs, shallot, garlic, jalapeno, salt, and red pepper flakes. This South American-inspired sauce or condiment is delicious over grilled meats, as a marinade, or used as a dipping sauce, just to name a few.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup extra virgin olive oil 214 g
  • ½ cup red wine vinegar 119.5 g
  • 1 medium onion finely diced (about ¼ cup, or shallot
  • 1 medium jalapeno pepper seeded and finely diced (about ¼ cup
  • 1 cup parsley minced, fresh
  • 2 teaspoons garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon oregano minced, fresh
  • 2 teaspoons basil minced, fresh
  • 2 teaspoons cilantro minced, fresh
  • 1 teaspoon thyme minced, fresh
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a large bowl. Stir to combine. Let the mixture rest at room temperature for 1-2 hours to allow the flavors to develop.
  2. Store the sauce in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
  3. Before using, stir to mix any separated ingredients.
