Chocolate cake shot
Description
The Chocolate Cake Shot starts by rubbing the shot glass rim with lemon and dipping it in caster sugar to form a sweet, frosted edge. Equal parts hazelnut liqueur and vodka are poured into the glass and stirred lightly. A lemon slice is placed on the rim to garnish and provide a citrus bite.
When drinking, the rim is licked to taste the sugar, the liquor is shot quickly, and then a bite from the lemon slice adds a sharp contrast, resulting in a flavor combination reminiscent of chocolate cake. This combination balances sweetness, nutty hazelnut notes, and citrus acidity in a compact beverage.
