Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
Description
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars provide the familiar taste of chocolate chip cookies in a bar form, utilizing softened butter, sugars, eggs, vanilla, flour, baking soda, and salt. The creaming of butter and sugars yields a tender, slightly chewy texture after baking. The mixture includes a generous amount of semi-sweet chocolate chips distributed throughout the batter. Baking times vary slightly based on pan size but generally range from 20 to 28 minutes at 350°F until a light golden crust forms.
After baking, the bars are cooled briefly to allow them to set, making them easier to cut into squares. Their denser texture makes them convenient for serving at gatherings or as a simple snack. The recipe notes mention that using an aluminum pan is preferred over glass, as it improves baking performance and bar texture.
