Ingredients

  • 1 cup butter room temperature
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1 granulated sugar + 1/4 cups
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 6 oz baking chocolate melted, semi-sweet
  • 2 all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder unsweetened
  • 3 T christmas sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add in the butter, shortening and granulated sugar. Mix on medium until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the vanilla and egg and mix until incorporated. Scrape down the sides.
  4. Add in the melted baking chocolate and mix until combined.
  5. Add in the flour, baking powder and cocoa powder. Mix on low until just combine.
  6. Scoop out a cookies using a cookie scoop.
  7. Dip the tops of the cookies in the sprinkles.
  8. Place on the prepared baking tray. Place in the oven and let bake for 11 minutes or until done. Let sit for five minutes and then move to a cooling rack.
