Chocolate Nutella Cookies
Description
The cookie dough starts by creaming softened butter with sugars until creamy, then mixing in Nutella and eggs for a rich base. Cocoa powder adds chocolate intensity, while flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt provide structure and leavening. Chocolate chunks give pockets of melted chocolate in each cookie.
Chilling the dough before baking firms it for better texture and to control spread. Rolling dough into balls and baking for 9 to 12 minutes yields cookies that are set on the edges but still soft inside. Optionally adding small pieces of Milky Way bars introduces gooey caramel centers that contrast with the chocolate dough. A light sea salt sprinkle on top balances the sweetness.
Using parchment paper or silicone baking mats helps prevent sticking, especially with caramel-filled cookies. After baking, letting cookies set before removing from the pan ensures they hold their shape.
