Creamy Bean Soup with Kielbasa

Creamy Bean Soup with Kielbasa combines browned slices of kielbasa sausage with onion, carrots, and garlic cooked in butter, then thickened with flour and simmered with white beans, chicken broth, milk, and Worcestershire sauce. The result is a thick, comforting soup with smoky sausage pieces and a mild creamy texture.

Description

This recipe starts by browning sliced kielbasa in vegetable oil until caramelized, then removing it to keep warm. In the same pot, butter is melted to sauté diced onion, carrot, and minced garlic along with salt and pepper until softened and translucent. Flour is added to form a roux that thickens the soup base carefully over heat.

Chicken broth, whole milk, and Worcestershire sauce are stirred in, and the browned kielbasa and rinsed Great Northern white beans are returned to the pot. The soup simmers on medium-low heat to thicken and meld flavors for 15-20 minutes. The result is a hearty soup with smoky sausage slices and tender beans suspended in a creamy broth with gentle seasoning and a hint of savory Worcestershire.

Parsley garnish adds a fresh note at serving. This soup works well as a filling lunch or dinner, offering a balance of smoky, savory, and creamy elements with a mildly thickened texture from the roux.
