Creamy Buttermilk Salad Dressing

A simple creamy Buttermilk Salad Dressing with plenty of tang.

Ingredients

  • 1 clove garlic (a large one)
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons salt I like to use lemon salt
  • 4 Tablespoons buttermilk
  • 2 teaspoons mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon juice fresh squeezed
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper freshly ground
  • 1/2 cup olive oil

Instructions

  1. Peel and chop garlic, then mush it on the cutting board with the blade of your knife until it is a paste.
  2. Combine all ingredients, including the garlic paste in a half-pint jar
  3. Cover the jar with a lid and shake well.
  4. Taste salad dressing and adjust seasoning if required. Store in the refrigeration for up to 5 days.
