Crock Pot Bacon Cheeseburger Dip

This Crock Pot Bacon Cheeseburger Dip combines ground beef, crisp bacon, cream cheese, sour cream, and shredded cheeses for a rich, savory dip. The cooked beef is seasoned with salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Worcestershire sauce, then mixed with sautéed onions, garlic, and tangy tomatoes with chilies. Melted mozzarella and cheddar add creaminess and depth. It's cooked slowly in a crock pot until bubbly and perfect for serving warm with chips or crackers as a hearty party appetizer or snack.

Description

The Crock Pot Bacon Cheeseburger Dip centers on flavorful ground beef browned with traditional seasonings and Worcestershire sauce to deepen its taste. Crispy thick-cut bacon and sautéed onions and garlic add texture and aroma. A creamy mixture of cream cheese, sour cream, ketchup, mustard, and diced tomatoes with chilies brings a tangy balance to the richness. Layered generously with mozzarella and cheddar cheeses, the dip cooks in a slow cooker to meld flavors and achieve a smooth, luscious consistency.

With its warm, cheesy texture dotted with meaty and smoky bits, this dip suits casual gatherings and game days. Serving it with salty chips or toasted bread provides a pleasing contrast. It can be made in advance, making it a convenient option when hosting.

The original recipe notes mention an alternative cooking method in the oven: assembling the mixture in a baking dish topped with cheddar and baking at 350°F until melted and bubbly. This provides flexibility if time is limited or a slow cooker is unavailable.

Notes

  • This dip can be baked in the oven at 350°F in a greased casserole dish for 20-30 minutes instead of using a crock pot.
  • Using thick-cut bacon helps achieve a crispier texture and better flavor contrast in the dip.
  • Drain excess fat from cooked beef and bacon to avoid a greasy dip, leaving about one tablespoon for sautéing onion and garlic.
  • Serve the dip warm to maintain its creamy texture and ease of scooping.
