Doogh (Persian Yogurt Drink)

Doogh, also known as ayran or tan, is a salty goat or ewe yogurt beverage that is popular in Syria, Lebanon and Turkey.

Ingredients

Servings
  • ½ cup sheep's yogurt cold, or goat's yogurt
  • ½ cup still water cold, or sparkling water
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • mint or dried, fresh
  • ice crushed

Equipment

  • blender

Instructions

  1. Add the yoghurt and water in a blender.
  2. Mix for 1 minute until frothy.
  3. Pour the mixture into a glass.
  4. Add crushed ice and decorate with a little mint on top.

Notes

  • Depending on your taste, use less water for a thicker drink, or more for a lighter drink.
