Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 to 2 ½ cups blackberry or frozen, thawed and drained, fresh
  • 1 cup granulated sugar divided use
  • ½ teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 ¾ cups Bisquick Mix
  • 1 cup milk whole
  • ½ cup butter melted, unsalted

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9x9-inch pan with cooking spray. Set aside.
  2. In a bowl, stir together the berries, ½ cup of the sugar, and the pumpkin pie spice. Let rest for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the rest of the sugar with the Bisquick mix and whole milk until well combined. Whisk in the melted butter and pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  4. Evenly sprinkle the sugared berries over the top of the batter, making sure to include any sugar that may be remaining in the bowl. If desired, you can sprinkle the top with coarse sugar.
  5. Bake for 50-60 minutes or until golden on top. Best served warm with a scoop of ice cream.
