Easy Dill Pickle Pasta Salad
Description
This Dill Pickle Pasta Salad features cooked bowtie pasta tossed with cubed cheddar cheese, sliced dill pickles, sliced green onions, and fresh chopped dill. A dressing of mayonnaise, sour cream, dill pickle juice, whole grain mustard, and apple cider vinegar is whisked smooth and folded into the salad, coating the ingredients evenly. The farfalle pasta is cooked al dente, drained, and cooled with a bit of olive oil to prevent sticking before mixing.
The salad delivers creamy and tangy flavors balanced with a touch of sharpness from the cheddar and a fresh herbal note from dill. The diced pickles add a crunchy texture and acidity that brightens the dish. It can be prepared ahead and chilled, allowing flavors to meld, making it a convenient make-ahead option for gatherings or weeknight meals.
Variety in pasta type is possible, including whole wheat or gluten-free options. Using light mayonnaise is an option to reduce fat content without compromising the creamy texture. Quick cooling methods for the pasta can save time during preparation.
