  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 tablespoons shortening
  • 3 ½ cups sifted powdered sugar
  • ½ tablespoon heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer, fitted with a paddle attachment, beat together butter and shortening until light and fluffy.
  2. Add powdered sugar, ½ cup at a time and continue to beat together.
  3. Scrape down sides of the bowl and add cream and vanilla. Beat until light and fluffy.
