Fried Feta Cheese Saganaki
Description
This recipe involves heating a shallow layer of cooking oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat. The feta is beaten in egg and thoroughly coated with flour before frying. The cheese cooks for about two minutes on each side until a golden crust forms without melting the cheese inside. After frying, excess oil is drained off using paper towels. A fresh lemon wedge is squeezed onto the hot cheese just before serving, adding acidity that contrasts with the richness.
The result is a crunchy exterior with warm, creamy feta inside. This method preserves the cheese's shape and texture while adding a savory fried element. It is ideal as an appetizer or snack.
