Golden Graham S'mores
Description
Starting with butter melted gently in a saucepan, most of the miniature marshmallows are added and stirred until melted and smooth, combined with vanilla extract. Golden Grahams cereal is gradually folded in to evenly coat each piece. The remaining marshmallows and milk chocolate chips are folded in to add texture and pockets of melted chocolate.
The mixture is pressed into a buttered 9 x 13 inch pan and topped with pieces of a chocolate bar gently pressed into the surface before cooling to room temperature. This yields bars with a chewy texture and a blend of sweet, toasted marshmallow and milk chocolate flavors. This treat stores well at room temperature for up to a week.
Ingredients
- 5 tablespoons butter unsalted
- 6 ½ cups miniature marshmallows divided use
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract pure
- 8 cups Golden Grahams cereal
- ½ cup milk chocolate chips
- 1 chocolate bar cut into pieces, Hershey’s brand
Instructions
- Butter a 9 x 13 x 2 inch baking pan.
- In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add in 5 1/2 cups of marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add in Golden Grahams cereal; stirring until well coated. Fold in the remaining 1 cup of marshmallows and milk chocolate chips.
- Using buttered spatula, press the mixture into the prepared pan. Gently press Hershey's Bar pieces into the top of the bars.
- Cool to room temperature. Cut into 2-inch squares.
Notes
- Store Golden Graham S'mores bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week to maintain freshness.
