Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless chicken breasts or thighs cut into bite-size chunks
  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt
  • ¼ cup olive or avocado oil
  • 2 Tablespoons lemon or lime juice
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 teaspoons EACH ground cumin, ground coriander, smoked paprika, kosher salt (or to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon EACH 7 spice (or allspice), ground cinnamon, turmeric, black pepper

Instructions

  1. Whisk the Greek yogurt, oil, lemon, garlic, and spices in a large bowl. Add the chicken pieces and toss to combine. Place in the fridge to marinate for 30 minutes or overnight.
  2. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil for easy cleanup. Thread the chicken onto metal skewers.
  3. Heat the grill to medium-high heat. Oil grill grates to prevent sticking. Cook chicken for 10 minutes, flipping, in between or until charred on the outside and cooked through on the inside.
  4. Serve with a side of shawarma sauce, if desired.
