Grilled Oysters Recipe with Beer Butter
Description
This recipe starts by whipping softened unsalted butter until light and fluffy, then folding in pilsner beer, finely minced shallots, garlic, lemon zest and juice, fresh parsley and tarragon, along with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. This creates a complex, flavorful butter mixture.
Fresh blue point oysters are placed on the grill attachment of a KitchenAid Smart Oven+ set to medium heat. About two teaspoons of the prepared beer butter is spooned onto each oyster. Grilling for 10 to 12 minutes cooks the oysters through, while the butter melts, bubbles, and starts to brown, imparting a rich tangy flavor with herbal notes from the fresh herbs and a subtle spicy kick.
Serving these oysters directly from the grill preserves their juices and the melted butter topping, making them an elegant yet straightforward grilled seafood dish.
The recipe includes a note about oven accessories available from KitchenAid, which may be useful for users with that equipment to replicate the preparation exactly.
