Holiday Ice Cubes

Report
Holiday Ice Cubes enhance festive drinks by freezing cranberries, rosemary sprigs, and orange slices in distilled water within molds. The decorative fruit and herb pieces create visually appealing, flavored ice cubes perfect for seasonal cocktails or punches. Freezing solid over a few hours ensures a clear, aromatic addition to beverages.

Description

This recipe calls for washing fresh rosemary sprigs, cranberries, and quartered orange slices, which are then arranged in silicone ice cube molds. Distilled water is poured over the ingredients before freezing for at least two hours, or until completely solid. The combination of citrus, rosemary, and cranberries imparts subtle aromas and visual interest to chilled drinks.

Careful arrangement of ingredients allows some to protrude slightly from the molds for an eye-catching design. Using distilled water helps maintain clarity in the ice cubes. The size and thickness of the cubes can affect freezing time, so larger cubes may require longer freezing.

These ice cubes are ideal for holiday-themed cocktails or mocktails, adding a fresh element without diluting drinks quickly. The aromatic herbs and fruit also infuse a gentle flavor as they melt.

Adjust quantity and placement of ingredients in the mold depending on the size and shape of the ice cube tray used to achieve desired visual effect.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of ingredients to fit your specific ice cube mold size and shape.
  • Freezing time varies by cube size and water thickness; allow sufficient time to freeze solid.
