Hot Rum & Ginger Tea Toddy Recipe

A steaming hot toddy cocktail, made of brewed tea, dark rum, orange slices and ginger will warm you to your toes.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups orange pekoe tea brewed
  • 3 ounces dark rum
  • 2 teaspoons agave nectar or honey
  • 2 lices orange
  • 2 ginger thick peeled slices, fresh
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg

Instructions

  1. In a small saucepan set over medium heat, combine the tea, rum, agave nectar (or honey), orange slices, ginger slices and nutmeg.
  2. Heat the mixture over medium heat and simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from the heat and let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes.
  3. Remove the orange and ginger slices, and pour into 2 mugs and serve, each garnished with a piece of the orange.
