Iced Boba Coffee + Instant Pot Iced Boba Coffee
Description
Iced Boba Coffee + Instant Pot Iced Boba Coffee involves preparing a coffee concentrate either by pressure cooking freshly ground coffee in an Instant Pot or by cold brewing coffee grounds for 12 hours. The concentrate is then combined with cold water and sweetened heavy cream to create the coffee base. Meanwhile, black tapioca pearls are cooked in the Instant Pot to produce the characteristic chewy boba. The final drink is assembled by adding cooked boba to the coffee mixture, providing a cold, creamy, and chewy coffee beverage. Cooking the coffee under pressure extracts robust flavors quickly, while cold brewing offers a gentler, longer extraction option. Using the Instant Pot for boba cooks the pearls efficiently.
The drink blends the richness of coffee with the smoothness of cream and the texture contrast of the tapioca pearls. It is served iced, making it refreshing and tactile. Large straws are required to accommodate the boba during drinking.
The recipe notes mention that coffee concentrate can be stored up to a week refrigerated, while boba is best fresh but can last a few days stored in cooking liquid or syrup. The recipe benefits from having the boba and concentrate prepared ahead. Using big straws ensures comfortable sipping of the pearls.
