Iced Tea Recipe | Lemon Iced Tea
Description
The Iced Tea Recipe | Lemon Iced Tea uses black tea powder or leaves steeped in boiled water to develop a strong base. Sugar is added during steeping to dissolve fully, and lemon juice is stirred in afterward to provide bright acidity. The tea is strained to remove leaves or powder, cooled, and chilled before serving over ice cubes for a cold, invigorating drink. The lemon slices used as garnish add visual appeal and a slight citrus aroma. Variations include swapping lemon juice for other citrus juices or adjusting sugar for sweetness preferences.
The flavor is balanced between the robust tannins of black tea and the fresh tartness of lemon juice. The sugar softens the bitterness without overpowering the citrus notes. The steeping time can be shortened for a lighter tea or extended for a deeper flavor. Serving the tea chilled with ice cubes enhances its refreshment, making it suitable for hot days or as a pleasant accompaniment to light meals.
This lemon iced tea can be easily scaled up to serve larger groups. It suits gatherings or daily refreshment needs. Garnishing with fresh mint or basil sprigs can add a herbal note and decorative touch. Adjusting the lemon and sugar gives control over the tea’s sourness and sweetness, accommodating personal taste.
