Individual Brownie Cherry Trifle
Description
This Individual Brownie Cherry Trifle combines homemade rich brownies with a lightly sweetened cherry sauce made by simmering fresh cherries with orange juice and sugar. The sauce is partially pureed to create a mix of textures, giving both a smooth fruit base and hearty cherry pieces. The brownies, incorporating cocoa and optional chocolate chips, are baked about 25-30 minutes and cooled before cutting into small portions.
Layers of brownies, cherry sauce, and whipped cream are alternated in serving glasses, resulting in a dessert that balances dense chocolate, tart and sweet fruit, and light creaminess. The fresh cherry garnish adds a visual and flavor touch. The dessert is portioned for six servings.
This trifle can be prepared in advance once brownies and cherry sauce are cooled, allowing for easy assembly and chilled serving. Leftover brownies can be repurposed for additional trifles or other desserts.
