Irish Coffee with Boozy Whipped Cream

Irish Coffee with Boozy Whipped Cream is a hot coffee drink blended with Irish whiskey, Baileys Irish cream, and brown sugar, topped with whipped cream flavored with Baileys. The drink offers warming richness with both coffee bitterness and creamy sweetness.

Description

This recipe divides strong hot coffee between two mugs, adding Irish whiskey and a touch of brown sugar to sweeten. Baileys Irish cream is blended in, providing creamy liqueur notes. The drink is finished with a topping of whipped cream that incorporates Baileys, creating a boozy, creamy garnish that complements the coffee.

The whipped cream can be whipped to varying consistencies depending on preference—from light and frothy to stiff peaks—adding texture variation.

Irish Coffee with this boozy whipped cream is typically served as a warming after-dinner drink or on colder days, balancing the robust coffee with the smoothness of whiskey and Baileys.

This recipe makes two drinks, perfect for sharing or servings at a small gathering.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 12 oz coffee divided, strong, black, hot
  • 3 oz Irish whiskey divided, I use Jameson's
  • 2-3 tsp brown sugar divided
  • 1 1/2 oz Baileys Irish cream divided

BAILEYS IRISH CREAM:

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 Tbsp Baileys Irish cream

Instructions

  1. Fill two mugs with hot water and let stand 1-2 minutes.  Dump out water and fill mugs with 6 oz each of hot coffee.  Stir in 1 1/2 oz whiskey in each mug,  and 1-3 tsp brown sugar in each mug, until sugar is dissolved.
  2. Pour half of Irish cream into each mug and stir to combine.
  3. Top with whipped cream and enjoy!

IRISH CREAM WHIPPED CREAM

  1. Add whipping cream and Baileys to a chilled bowl.  Beat with a handheld mixer for 1-2 minutes, until desired consistency is achieved.
  2. For a loose, frothy layer of cream, beat until whipping cream is frothy and spoonable.  For stiffer whipped cream, beat until cream has medium to stiff peaks forming.

Notes

  • This recipe yields two servings of Irish Coffee.
