- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3 tablespoons butter
- 1 large egg beaten
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup plain yorgurt
- 1/2 cup raisins optional

Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C), and line a flat baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a medium mixing bowl stir together flour, baking powder, soda, and salt.
- Cut in butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Make a well in the center of the mixture.
- In a small mixing bowl combine egg white and milk and yogurt.
- Add all at once to dry the mixture and include the raisins which are optional. Stir just till moistened.
- On a lightly floured surface knead dough 12 to 14 strokes till the dough is nearly smooth.
- Shape the dough into a 7-inch round loaf.
- Place soda bread dough on a lightly greased baking pan and score the top with a sharp knife, making 2 slashes to form an X.
- Bake for about 25-30 minutes or till golden.
- Remove from the oven and Serve warm.
- Enjoy
