KFC Coleslaw Recipe

The KFC Coleslaw Recipe offers a finely chopped blend of cabbage, shredded carrot, and minced onion dressed in a tangy, creamy mixture sweetened with sugar and balanced by lemon juice and vinegar. The finely chopped vegetables ensure even coating and a smooth texture. Chilling allows flavors to meld, resulting in a crisp, refreshing side salad.

Description

KFC Coleslaw is made by combining finely chopped cabbage, shredded carrot, and minced onion with a creamy dressing composed of mayonnaise, buttermilk, milk, sugar, lemon juice, and white vinegar. The dressing has a balanced sweet and tart profile that complements the crunch of the vegetables.

The key to this coleslaw's texture is chopping the cabbage and carrots into small, rice-sized pieces, which helps the dressing cling well and delivers a uniform mouthfeel. After mixing, the coleslaw needs to chill at least two hours to allow the flavors to meld and soften the cabbage slightly while maintaining crispness.

This coleslaw serves as a refreshing side dish that pairs well with fried foods or barbecue. Its creamy but tangy dressing contrasts nicely with savory dishes.

Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator and consume within two days for freshness. The recipe yields a quantity suitable for several servings and can be halved if desired.
