Korean Strawberry Milk

Korean Strawberry Milk combines fresh strawberries mashed with sugar and chilled, then mixed with cold milk to create a lightly sweetened, slightly textured fruit milk. The strawberry mixture, with small chunks still intact, infuses the milk with natural berry flavor and a refreshing pink tint, making a enjoyable sweet drink.

Description

This recipe uses two cups of fresh strawberries blended with sugar until partially broken down, retaining small strawberry pieces for texture. The sweetened strawberry mixture is chilled in the refrigerator to develop flavor. When serving, a few tablespoons of the strawberry mixture are placed over ice in a glass, then topped with milk and stirred to combine, creating a cool and lightly fruity beverage.

The drink offers a balance of natural strawberry sweetness with the creaminess and chill of fresh milk. The uneven blending allows bursts of strawberry flavor throughout rather than a smooth puree.

Korean Strawberry Milk is commonly enjoyed as a refreshing treat or snack and can be adjusted in sweetness or milk ratio to taste. It’s best consumed immediately after preparation to keep the milk fresh and the strawberry bits pleasant.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 2 cups strawberries stems removed
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 4 cups milk or more

Instructions

  1. To a blender, add the strawberries and sugar.
  2. Blend the strawberries to your texture of choice. I do not blend the strawberries all the way so there are small strawberry chunks throughout the milk.
  3. Place the strawberry mixture in an airtight container and chill in the fridge for a minimum of an hour.
  4. To a glass, add a couple of ice cubes and then add 3 or more tablespoons of the strawberry mixture.
  5. Top off the glass with milk.
  6. Stir to combine. Enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of milk added for personal sweetness and flavor preferences.
