  • 2 cups chickpeas OR 2 x 14 oz. canned chickpeas, dried
  • water omit if using canned chickpeas, cold, lots of
  • 1/4 cup tahini (sesame paste/butter found in the nut butter section of the grocery store)
  • 1 medium lemon juiced
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3/4 cup basil leaves fresh, roughly chopped
  • 1/4 tsp salt sea salt
  • 1 cup water possibly more depending upon how smooth you'd like the consistency to be, ice
