Limonana
Description
The recipe starts by dissolving sugar in half a cup of water over gentle heat, creating a simple syrup that is cooled before use. Freshly squeezed lemon juice is combined with the syrup, remaining water, fresh mint leaves, and ice cubes in a blender. Blending tills the mint is finely chopped, producing a slightly frothy and well-mixed mint and lemon drink.
This mixture offers a balanced tartness from lemon, sweetness from the sugar syrup, and the aromatic freshness of mint. The ice cubes chill and dilute it slightly for a smooth, thirst-quenching texture.
Limonana serves well on warm days as a cooling beverage and can be offered alongside light meals or snacks. Its fresh mint flavor brightens the palate and complements the lemon’s acidity.
