Mint Chocolate Smoothie

Report
Mint Chocolate Smoothie blends spinach, fresh mint leaves, banana, Greek yogurt, vanilla almond milk, and Thin Mint cookies into a creamy, refreshing drink. The spinach is first liquefied with water to avoid chunks, then combined with the remaining ingredients for a balanced mint and chocolate flavor. Crumbled Thin Mint cookies added last provide subtle chocolate texture.

Description

This smoothie starts by blending fresh or frozen spinach with fresh mint leaves and filtered water until completely smooth, preventing leafy chunks in the drink. Next, banana and vanilla Greek yogurt add creaminess along with vanilla almond milk to achieve the desired pourable consistency.

The Clean Simple Eats Thin Mint protein powder is included for flavor and protein content, followed by crumbled Thin Mint cookies added at the end and pulsed briefly to disperse them without fully crushing. This layering of mint elements creates nuanced mint and chocolate notes.

The result is a smooth, nutrient-rich smoothie with fresh green notes from spinach and mint, sweetness from banana and yogurt, and chocolate bits for texture. It makes a refreshing snack or breakfast choice.

Adding a little mint extract intensifies the mint flavor, while chocolate protein or cocoa powder boosts chocolate richness. Blending spinach with water before adding other ingredients is key for smooth texture and color.

Ingredients

Servings
  • ¼ cup water filtered
  • ¾ cup spinach fresh or frozen
  • 4-6 mint leaves
  • 1 banana frozen
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt vanilla flavor
  • 1 coop Thin Mint protein powder Clean Simple Eats
  • ¾ cup almond milk or milk of choice, vanilla
  • 2 thin mint cookie

Instructions

  1. Add the frozen spinach, mint leaves and filter water into a high-powered blender. Blend until the greens have completely liquified. This is crucial so there are no green chunks throughout the smoothie.
  2. Add the remaining ingredients except the Thin Mints and blend until smooth. Depending on your desired consistency, you may need to add more or less almond milk
  3. Crumble the Thin Mint cookies last and pulse until evenly distributed!
  4. Pour into a glass (rimmed with chocolate optional), garnish with a scoop of creamy cool whip, thin mint cookie crumbles and/or cacao nibs.

Notes

  • Blend spinach and mint with water first to eliminate chunks and improve smoothie texture.
  • Add mint extract to increase mint flavor intensity, or chocolate protein/cocoa powder for deeper chocolate taste.
