Oat Milk Hot Chocolate

Report
This oat milk hot chocolate blends oat milk heated gently with cocoa powder, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and dark vegan chocolate pieces. The mixture is warmed slowly while whisking to melt the chocolate and combine flavors fully. The result is a creamy, smooth hot chocolate with a subtle oat flavor and rich chocolatey taste that can be enjoyed as a comforting drink.

Description

Oat Milk Hot Chocolate is prepared by combining oat milk with cocoa powder, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a pan over low heat. Continuous whisking prevents lumps and tempers the heat to avoid boiling, preserving the milk’s creaminess. Adding broken dark vegan chocolate towards the end allows it to melt thoroughly, enriching the drink’s texture and flavor.

The end result is a dairy-free hot chocolate with a silky mouthfeel and balanced sweetness from maple syrup. The oat milk base adds natural creaminess without overpowering the chocolate notes. The gentle heating method avoids curdling or scalding the milk.

Variations include using almond or coconut milk, though oat milk provides unique creaminess. A pinch of cayenne can add a warm spice kick. The drink may also be prepared quickly in the microwave or frothed for a café-style texture.
