Orange Creamsicle Fudge

Orange Creamsicle Fudge is a two-tone sweet treat blending creamy white chocolate and vanilla frosting with orange extract and food coloring to create swirls reminiscent of the classic creamsicle flavor. The fudge is chilled in a pan until firm, presenting a smooth, rich texture with fresh citrus notes, suitable for gifting or dessert.

Description

This fudge recipe mixes melted white chocolate chips with store-bought vanilla frosting, then splits the mixture into two portions. One remains white, while the other is flavored with orange extract and tinted with orange food coloring, creating a vibrant contrast. These two mixtures are spooned alternately into a lined baking dish and gently swirled with a butter knife to form a marbled pattern. Once refrigerated for a couple of hours, the fudge firms up with a silky consistency and sweet citrus flavor reminiscent of orange creamsicle. The balance of vanilla sweetness and tangy orange extract offers a nostalgic twist. This treat requires no baking and is straightforward to prepare, making it a handy option for celebrations or holiday gifting.

Ingredients

Servings
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips
  • 16 ounces vanilla frosting 1 tub, store-bought
  • ½ teaspoon orange extract
  • Food Coloring see note, orange

Instructions

  1. Line the inside of a 9-inch x 9-inch baking dish with foil or parchment paper. Set aside.
  2. Place white chocolate chips in a large microwave-safe bowl, microwave for 30 seconds, and then stir. Repeat heating and stirring until the chips are almost fully melted. Add the entire tub of frosting to the bowl and heat for another 15 seconds. Stir the frosting into the chocolate until smooth and combined.
  3. Remove half of the fudge mixture to a second bowl. Leave one bowl of fudge white and to the second bowl, add the orange extract and orange food coloring and then stir until combined. (Add the food coloring a few drops at a time until your desired colored is reached.)
  4. Spoon dollops of white and orange fudge into the prepared baking dish until all of the fudge mixtures have been added. Use a butter knife to swirl the colors together. Place the pan in the fridge for 2 hours or until firm.
  5. Remove the dish from the refrigerator. Lift the fudge out of the dish using the foil/parchment paper and then cut it into 16 equal squares.

Notes

  • Use a small amount of gel or liquid food coloring to achieve the desired orange shade, adding more yellow than red if mixing colors.
