Parmesan Roasted Brussel Sprouts

This recipe for Parmesan Roasted Brussel Sprouts uses halved sprouts tossed with olive oil, Italian-style breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic salt, and black pepper before roasting at high heat. The coating crisps up during a 15-17 minute bake, adding a crunchy texture and savory depth to the tender Brussels. It's a straightforward side dish that balances the sprouts' natural bite with a nutty cheese crust.

Description

Parmesan Roasted Brussel Sprouts offers a flavorful way to prepare Brussels by enhancing their natural texture with a crisp breadcrumb and Parmesan topping. After trimming and halving the sprouts, they are evenly coated in a mixture that includes olive oil for roasting and Italian-style breadcrumbs which toast during the high-temperature oven cooking. Parmesan cheese melts and browns slightly, adding richness and umami.

The garlic salt and black pepper season the sprouts well without overpowering, allowing the vegetable’s slightly bitter and nutty flavors to come forward. Roasting at 425 degrees for about 15 to 17 minutes produces sprouts that are tender on the inside with golden, crispy surfaces.

This dish can be served alongside roasted meats or as a vegetarian-friendly side. Additional Parmesan sprinkled on top before serving intensifies the cheesy flavor. The recipe is adapted from a reliable source and keeps preparation simple, with the seasoning mixed in a bag that ensures even coverage.
