Pasta al Tonno

Ingredients
- 1 can of tuna (about 3 oz) (I suggest using the kind preserved in olive oil rather than water)
- 1 ¾ cup tomato sauce (homemade or canned works)
- 200 g fusilli pasta
- extra virgin olive oil
- fresh basil
- salt and pepper
Instructions
- Start by heating up a large pan on medium heat. Drizzle in some olive oil and let the pan heat up.
- Drain the tuna and add it to the pan. Make sure the tuna gets lightly coated in oil so it will fry a little in the pan. Let the tuna fry for 2 or 3 minutes and start the water for your pasta.
- Once the tuna is done, slowly pour in the tomato sauce. Add the basil, salt, and pepper and mix everything well. Turn the heat on medium-low and let this simmer while you continue cooking the pasta.
- Optional: add a spoonful of pasta water to your sauce to help thicken it up more if desired!
- Once the pasta is ready, drain and add directly to the saucepan. Turn the heat off and mix everything well.
- Serve the Pasta al Tonno with Parmesan on top and enjoy!
