Pepperoni Bread
Description
This Pepperoni Bread begins with thawed one-pound bread dough rolled into a rough rectangle. A garlic butter mixture seasoned with pizza herbs is brushed onto the surface. Next, slices of pepperoni and shredded mozzarella cheese are evenly layered before the dough is rolled jelly-roll style and sealed at the edges.
The loaf is baked on parchment until golden brown, with vent cuts on top to release steam. The exterior develops a crisp, buttery crust while the interior remains tender and filled with melted cheese and pepperoni. Parmesan cheese sprinkled on top adds a final savory note.
Once baked and slightly cooled, the loaf slices easily, making it ideal for serving as a party appetizer, snack, or alongside a salad. The bread's flavor pairs well with tomato-based dips or a light marinara sauce if desired.
Ingredients
- 1 1- pound bread dough thawed according to package directions (I used and like Rhodes brand, frozen, loaf
- 3 ½ tablespoons butter melted, salted
- 1 ½ teaspoons pizza seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
- 4 ounces pepperoni sliced
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese shredded
- 2 tablespoons Parmesan Cheese grated
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Set aside.
- Lightly flour your work surface and roll and stretch the thawed dough into a rectangle that is about 12 x 10 inches. This doesn’t have to be perfect, so don’t stress about the exact dimensions; as long as it’s close, you’re good to go.
- Combine melted butter with the pizza seasoning and garlic powder and mix until combined.
- Use a pastry brush to brush the rolled dough with half of the melted butter mixture. Evenly cover the surface of the dough with pepperoni and then sprinkle on the mozzarella cheese.
- Beginning with a long side, roll up dough jelly-roll style. Pinch the ends and place the loaf seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet. Use a sharp knife to cut 3 small vents in the top of the loaf.
- Brush with remaining butter mixture and sprinkle with parmesan cheese.
- Bake in preheated oven for 20-25 minutes or until golden brown.
- Allow to cool for about 10 minutes before slicing with a serrated knife. Serve with pizza sauce or marinara sauce.
