Philly Cheesesteak Grilled Cheese

This Philly cheesesteak grilled cheese is packed with rare roast beef, onions, green peppers, and lots of melty cheese. Easy, delicious, and sure to impress!

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 whole green bell pepper cored and thinly sliced
  • ½ small yellow onion thinly sliced
  • ¼ teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 clove garlic minced
  • 4 large slices white bread
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ½ pound deli shaved rare roast beef
  • 4 lices Provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. In a 12-inch skillet add olive oil and set over medium-high heat.
  2. When the oil is hot, add sliced green bell peppers, yellow onion, Italian seasoning, kosher salt, and black pepper.
  3. Saute until the vegetables start to soften and the onion starts to look translucent about 10 minutes. Add in the garlic and saute for a minute longer. Remove the pan from the heat.
  4. Preheat your panini press to medium.
  5. Butter one side of your bread slices. On the unbuttered side of two slices of bread, start layering your sandwiches: one slice of cheese, half of the pepper/onion mixture, half of the roast beef, another slice of cheese, and the other side of bread, buttered side out.
  6. Place in panini press, close the lid, and press until the bread is toasted, the inside of the sandwich is warm and the cheese is melted, about 5 minutes.
